UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Apr. 23 — Ukrainian army repels Russian assault on Bochkove, a village near the state border north of Kharkiv, east of Vovchansk, reports 16th Army Corps on their Facebook page.
The military said Russia formed three assault groups and tried to move towards Bochkove via two routes.
“Thanks to the coordinated work of the military units and clear direction from the command, the movement of the enemy troops has been detected in time,” the 16th Army Corps wrote.
They added that the Russian soldiers were targeted by artillery and drones – after sustaining losses, the Russians fell back to their previous positions.
According to the intercepted communication, the 16th Corps said, two Russians were killed and several more were injured during this assault.
At the northern border of Kharkiv oblast, Russian troops are trying to push deeper into the region from several directions. For instance, they keep up the assaults in small infantry groups near Vovchansk, 10 km (~6,2 miles) from the border, with their logistics getting disrupted by Ukrainian airstrikes.
