Eight hundred thousand Ukrainians have been left without homes, and more than 45 million square meters of housing have been destroyed during the war. Ukrainian engineers created a new technology to rebuild houses as quickly as possible.

According to the experts, due to the enterprises’ shutdown, supply chain disruption, labor shortage, and other negative consequences of war, it will take from 10 to 15 years to restore the ruined houses even with the help of foreign partners.

Ukrainian engineers have created Well-being ConTech, a progressive prefab technology for rapid production and construction of prefabricated concrete insulated houses. The technology will allow building multifamily units two times faster, even compared to modern technologies like frame-monolithic construction.

The engineers expect that the new technology will provide the completion of the construction of more than 120 apartments per month, which equals two six-story buildings.

The quick-build houses also provide a significant reduction in energy consumption thanks to a well-thought-out set of energy-efficient solutions. They include the insulated multi-layer outer wall, and the usage of heat-saving engineering systems, such as recuperators, and alternative energy sources.

The first Well-being ConTech plant was built in Odesa, its capacity is more than 72,000 square meters of housing per year. The location of the production allows reducing logistics costs in the future reconstruction of Kherson and Mykolaiv. The authors of the project state that they are ready to scale up the production and build the factories anywhere in Ukraine within 3-6 months.

Meanwhile, utility services workers continue to repair the infrastructure and clear the roads in liberated settlements in Kharkiv Oblast.
