UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Jun. 3 — In the morning, Russian forces launched a kamikaze drone at Kholodnohirskyi district of Kharkiv, killing a woman aged 52, damaging a house and pumping station, destroying a car.
Earlier, Ihor Terekhov, the city’s mayor, reported that a woman, the owner of the damaged house, had been injured and hospitalized in critical condition. Later, her neighbor told Gwara that she died in the hospital, which was corroborated by Kharkiv officials.
Samara Liubchik, 76, lives near the impact site. She said that Russian forces struck the nearby pumping station with missiles at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, causing damage to her home. Today’s explosion shattered windows in the house, damaged her bedroom, and broke a cupboard.
“I’m tired, but I’m glad we stayed alive and that we’re okay. The only bad thing is that Putin is still alive,” Samara said.
Olha, another resident of the neighborhood, said her house was shaking during the Russian attack, but her windows were not damaged. She also mentioned that another man was injured in the Russian attack. Authorities have not reported any information about such an injury, so the man likely didn’t ask for medical help.
“This is the first time something loudly exploded here since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war,” Olha added.
