UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Jul. 29 — On Jul. 28, Russian forces hit a five-story apartment building in Kharkiv’s Novobavarskyi district with a jet-powered Geran-4 drone, injuring at least nine people, reported Ihor Terekhov, the city’s mayor.

The Russian drone crashed through the building’s roof, causing a fire that spread over 200 square meters (about 2,150 square feet), while the blast wave blew out windows at nearby houses, and damaged the vehicle and power grids in the area of impact.

The Emergency Service workers evacuated all residents of the building, said Oleh Syniehubov, the governor of the Kharkiv region. He also said that a Russian attack injured a 67-year-old woman, and eight more people got the acute stress reaction.

“Last year, there was a Russian strike near this apartment building, and we resorted to it. The roof has been repaired and windows fitted. Now, we’ll have to start it over again,” Mayor Terekhov said.

The resident of the damaged building, who didn’t disclose her name, told Gwara she was at her apartment when the Russian strike occurred.

“It (the blast wave from the Russian attack — ed.) hit my window. I was so terrified and immediately thought, ‘Oh God, what should I do?’  Later, rescuers knocked on my door. Nothing in my home was damaged, but it may have been flooded with water.”
