UKRAINE, KRUHLIAKIVKA, Nov. 4 — On Nov. 3, Russian troops killed two civilians and their dog in Kruhliakivka, Kupiansk district, reported the 77th Aeromobile Brigade of the Air Assault Forces of Ukraine. People were walking under a white flag on the road until a Russian drone strike hit them.
“There were no military objects or military positions nearby,” the brigade said, adding that, according to their data, Russia killed these people to then blame Ukraine’s Armed Forces for this war crime. A white flag is an internationally recognized symbol of truce, and people carrying it should not be fired upon.
Kruhliakivka is a village on the left bank of the Oskil River south of Kupiansk, where, according to geolocation data, Russia has recently advanced through the center of the city.
Drone strikes are the method Russia uses most often to kill and injure civilians in the frontline region, and Kharkiv oblast is no exception.
On Nov. 2, Russia attacked a civilian car in Borova hromada with an FPV drone, injuring three people inside the vehicle and one person who was standing on the street. One of the passengers later died of her injuries in the hospital.
