Ukrainian Red Cross Society in Kharkiv Oblast and the Canadian charity H.U.G.S held the campaign “With love and care for internally displaced persons” in Kharkiv.

More than 500 internally displaced persons (IDPs) were treated in various neighborhoods of Kharkiv. Porridge with meat, freshly prepared in the field kitchen, was waiting for the people near the hostels where they live.

“The guys from the evacuation department came up with the idea to congratulate the people they evacuated from the liberated territories on Valentine’s Day. Treat them with porridge and pilaf, showing that they are not forgotten and that they are still cared for. This is a joint action of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society in Kharkiv Oblast and the Canadian charity H.U.G.S.,” commented Natalia Latosh, head of the PR and communication department of the Ukrainian Red Cross in Kharkiv Oblast.

Earlier this month, the residents of the islands of Saaremaa and Bornholm collected EUR 30,000 for mobile post offices and humanitarian aid for the liberated city of Izium in Kharkiv Oblast.
