UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug 12 — Russia sent assault troops from the personnel of the 4th sabotage-reconnaissance assault company to Vovchansk of Kharkiv Oblast, reports the “Kharkiv” group of forces on their Telegram channel.
Towns and villages of the Kharkiv Oblast come under massive Russian artillery shelling and air strikes often, even more so since Russia launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the region in the Vovchansk and Lyptsi directions in May.
The military noted that, with the addition of new assault troops, “the enemy also tries to improve logistics supply and improve military communication.”
The “Kharkiv” group of forces also reports that northwest of Tykhe (also in the Vovchansk direction), Russia concentrates its efforts on aerial reconnaissance and fortifies its positions.
In their August 11 report, the American think tank Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said they didn’t observe any changes to the frontline in the Kharkiv direction.
