UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Jan 28 — Near 00:35, a Russian Shahed drone hit the territory of a civilian enterprise in the Novobavarskyi district of Kharkiv, causing a massive fire to break out, local authorities report.
Two people were diagnosed with an acute stress reaction because of the attack, including a 9-year-old child. Gwara Media journalists have been to the hit site and documented the consequences of the Russian strike.
Russia attacks Kharkiv often because of its proximity to the frontline and the state border (19 miles) and uses various weapons like drones, glide bombs, and missiles to do so.
This Shahed strike caused a furniture accessory and sewing workshop to catch fire over 1,500 square meters. It damaged pipes and five civilian cars.
Later in the morning, Ukrainian forces shot down a drone in the Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv. Russian Geran-2 drones also damaged a house in Staryi Saltiv, and injured two people in Rohan with Geran-2, damaging four houses.
Geran-2 is a name for the Russian version of an Iranian-made Shahed-136, modified and improved within Moscow’s defense industry.
On January 27, a Russian FPV (first-person view) drone attack in Kupiansk damaged a warehouse of a civilian enterprise. Russian shelling of Kindrashivka injured a 61-year-old woman.
