KHARKIV, UKRAINE, Dec 29 — Russians launched the most massive attack on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure. Three waves of shelling took place in Kharkiv starting at 5 a.m., with the Russian army striking the city 22 times.

Three men were killed as a result of the Russian strikes. They were employees of a civilian enterprise. 11 people were injured. Rescuers of the State Emergency Service, emergency medics, and law enforcement officers are working to eliminate the consequences of Russian aggression.

Kharkiv clinic, school, residential buildings, a Nova Poshta office and a manufacturing plant were also damaged.

The medical facility’s head, Natalia Yermolaeva, said 26 windows were broken in one of the cancer center’s buildings. The equipment was not damaged.

“After 5 o’clock, the alarm went off and the security came. Then our employees arrived and saw the damage to the clinic’s inpatient building,” she added.

Builders came to the hospital to repair the broken windows. Meanwhile, the department continues to operate as usual.

The city was shelled with two types of missiles – S-300 and X-22, said Mayor Ihor Terekhov. According to him, there were eight reported attacks, preliminary, in Kyivskyi and Kholodnohirskyi districts – the information is being clarified.

Massive missile attack on Ukraine

Ukrainian air forces shot down 87 cruise missiles and 27 drones during a massive attack on Ukraine, Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Valeriy Zaluzhnyi said.

Previously, Russian troops used a total of 158 missiles of various types and attack drones.

First, Russia attacked with Shahed drones from the north and southeast, followed by a move to the west. A total of 36 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs were spotted.

Around 3.00 a.m., the Russian army took off with strategic aviation – Tu-95MS bombers. A total of 18 aircraft reached the launch line at around 06:00 am and launched at least 90 X-101/X-555/X-55 air-launched cruise missiles.

From the Kursk region, Russia used Tu-22M3 long-range bombers to launch eight X-22/X-32 cruise missiles in the direction of the northern and central regions. Kharkiv was attacked with S-300 anti-aircraft-guided missiles. In total, Russia fired at least 14 ballistic missiles – S-300/S-400/Iskander-M – from the occupied Crimea, Kursk and Belgorod regions of the Russian Federation.

At 06:30, five MiG-31K fighter jets were observed taking off and launching five X-47M2 Kinzhal aero ballistic missiles from Astrakhan region. In addition, four X-31P and one X-59 anti-aircraft missiles were fired from Su-35 tactical aircraft.
