The 460th day of Russia’s large-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun. The adversary continues to shell Kharkiv Oblast with mortars, artillery, and air attacks.

  • The opposing force initiated a grand total of 97 aerial bombardments, consisting of 59 Iranian Shahed combat unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Ukrainian defenders successfully intercepted 58 of the Shahed UAVs. Additionally, the hostile party unleashed 39 multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) assaults targeting Ukrainian military positions and various settlements.
  • The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on attempts to fully occupy Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts. During the day of May 28, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 19x enemy attacks.

Slobozhanshchyna axis

During the day of May 28, the invaders launched air strikes at the vicinities of Pletenivka and Vovchanski Khutory in Kharkiv Oblast.

Kupiansk axis

The adversary conducted unsuccessful offensives in the vicinity of Masiutivka. Russian forces launched an air strike in the vicinity of Kyslivka (Kharkiv oblast). Kolodyazne, Krasne Pershe, Fyholivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Masiutivka, Kyslivka, and Berestove came under artillery and mortar fire in the region.

Kharkiv RMA

  • Settlements in Kharkiv, Kupyansk, Chuhuiv and Izium districts were under fire.
  • Last night around 00:30 a residential building was damaged at Bohuslavka village of Izium district as a result of artillery shelling. A 49-year-old civilian man was wounded.
  • The shelling damaged a private household at Petropavlivka village of Kupyansk district. Two outbuildings were burning.
  • A 73-year-old woman was wounded as a result of artillery shelling in Kucherivka village of Kupyansk district.
  • Residential building and a car were damaged by shelling in Kupyansk.

State Emergency Service, Mine danger

  • At 17:25, rescuers of the 44th State Fire and Rescue Unit were sent to extinguish a fire caused by shelling from the Russian occupation forces in the village of Petropavlivka, Kupyansk community. On the territory of a private household, 2 outbuildings were burning on the area of 60 square meters. 2 units of rescue equipment and 8 rescuers were engaged. At 18:30 the fire was extinguished.
  • The day before, the occupiers attacked the village of Vovchanski Khutory, Chuhuiv district. To find out the consequences of this attack, at 09:00, rescuers of the 47th State Rescue and Fire Department went to the attack site. The inspection revealed numerous damages to 3 private houses, a house of culture and an administrative building.
  • The pyrotechnic units of the SES eliminated 1 explosive object.
