UKRAINE, KHARKIV, June 22 — At about 3:13 p.m., Russia attacked Kharkiv with at least four glide bombs, reported Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov. One of the bombs hit a residential area in the center of the city, killing at least three and injuring 56 people, including three children.
Russian attacks on the Kharkiv oblast have intensified since the start of their new offensive on the north of the region. While the number of missile strikes on the city reduced after the Ukrainian army destroyed S-300/S-400 air defense systems in Belgorod Oblast, glide bombs, launched from jets over the border, still reach Kharkiv.
Oleh Syniehubov, governor of the Kharkiv region, said the Russians attacked the city with modified glide bombs (UMPD D-30.) Here’s our photo report from one of the impact sites.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that, since the beginning of June 2024, Russia bombed Ukraine with over 2,400 glide bombs, with at least 700 of them being dropped at the Kharkiv region.
