UKRAINE, Sep 25 — Japan will provide $30 million worth of modern equipment for Ukrainian healthcare institutions, Ukraine’s Health Ministry reported on September 24. 

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, many countries have provided Ukraine with aid directed at support and restoration of the country’s healthcare infrastructure damaged by the Russian full-scale invasion.  

It’s noted that, during the first stage of the grant agreement between the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Ukraine, the country’s health institutions have already received nine MRI machines, a computed tomography scan, and two neurosurgery microscopes worth $21 million.  

In the second stage, Ukrainian hospitals will receive 18 neurosurgical microscopes. Eight are already operational, and the rest will be installed during the following week. Also, the hospitals will receive 20 primary care vehicles and 10 endoscopes. 

On June 1, Oleh Syniehubov, Kharkiv Oblast Governor said Japan has provided 20 vehicles for medical needs to the deoccupied communities of the Kharkiv region.
