UKRAINE, Mar 4 — Since the beginning of the year, the Ukrainian government has allocated 20 billion hryvnias [$518 million] from the state budget reserve fund for the fortification and construction of defense borders, announced Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
“Additional [financial] resources from other sources totaled almost 11 billion hryvnias [$287 million]. Almost 3 billion hryvnias [$78 million] have been allocated to the Ministry of Defence and the State Transport Special Service,” Denys Shmyhal wrote.
According to Denys Shmyhal, regional administrations have allocated another 16 billion hryvnias [$417 million].
Denys Shmyhal reported that the Ukrainian government has allocated 3.9 billion hryvnias [$101 million] to construct defense borders in the Kharkiv Oblast. This is the largest amount among the four oblasts of Ukraine that received money from the reserve fund.
