KHARKIV OBLAST, UKRAINE, Apr 23 — Over the past day, the Russian army hit Zolochiv, Vovchansk, Prykolotne, Derhachi, and Senkove in the Kharkiv region with airstrikes, according to the morning report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff’s data, in the Slobozhanskyi direction, in the border areas, the Russian military conducts intense sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to more dangerous directions and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod Oblast.

Russian troops did not conduct any assaults in the Kupiansk direction over the past day. However, the Russians are not leaving the goal of occupying Kupiansk, as it is a logistics hub between Kharkiv and Luhansk oblasts, and seizing it would allow the Russian army to boost its supply efforts.

On April 18, the Russians renewed their assaults on the Kupiansk axis after a pause for the rotation of military units in the area.

In total, the Russian army fired mortars and artillery at more than 120 settlements in the Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts.
