UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Nov 18 – The Russian army attacked the Ukrainian positions in the Kupiansk direction ten times over the day. Ukrainian forces repelled Russian assaults near Kucherivka, Kruhliakivka, Zahryzove, and Kolisnykivka, reported the General Staff.
One of the main goals of the Russian full-scale war is to capture the remainder of occupied Luhansk and Donetsk Oblast; their operations on the Kupiansk-Svatove-Kreminna line are dedicated to that. From this section of the frontline, they also aim to push into Kharkiv Oblast and re-occupy Kupiansk and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, important logistics hubs for the region.
In the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops stormed the positions of Ukrainian defenders near the towns of Vovchansk and Starytsia four times without success, actively using bombers.
Russia launched three missile strikes and 85 airstrikes, dropping 141 glide bombs (KABs) on positions of Ukrainian troops and cities and villages in the Kharkiv region over the past day in total. Russians fired over 4,700 times at Ukrainian forces, including 111 times with multiple launch rocket systems.
