About 570,000 hectares of agricultural land in Kharkiv Oblast are mined. One hundred fifty-nine thousand hectares of this area have been approved for priority demining.
This was reported by Yevhen Ivanov, Deputy Chief of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
International organizations, including FSD and the UN, are involved in the territories` demining. They are ready to start work in the Izium district. First, they will examine agricultural enterprises cultivating up to 500 hectares of fields.
A map of mined agricultural lands will also be developed. It will contain the locations of shellings and information on whether military operations were conducted on the territory. Later, the suitability of the soil for farming will be investigated.
