UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Oct. 14 — Russian forces attacked energy infrastructure in the Kharkiv oblast with nearly 11 missiles, Oleh Syniehubov, the governor, said. Overnight, some districts of Kharkiv experienced energy blackouts, reported Gwara Media’s journalists.

This night, Russian forces attacked 39 ballistic and 120 drone attacks on energy infrastructure in the Kharkiv and Kyiv regions, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian president, said.

According to the president, currently, at least 600,000 people are currently without power. He predicts even more widespread outages. The attacks also damaged 26 components of the Ukrainian energy complex and four oil and gas facilities. There were casualties, he said.

“A targeted Russian ballistic missile strike specifically against energy infrastructure — the very infrastructure covered by the ceasefire announced by the American President,” he said.

Earlier, Trump announced a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, though later specified that it concerned airstrikes at oil refineries in both countries — Trump repeatedly asked Zelenskyy to stop attacking Russian oil refineries before that.

Zelenskyy was surprised by this announcement but added that Ukraine is ready to accept it if Russia also refrains from attacking Ukrainian energy objects.

The day after Trump declared ceasefire, Russia violated the agreement six times by attacking energy objects across Ukraine, Zelenskyy said.
