UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug 26 — On August 24, a charity foundation and volunteers handed over an operational vehicle to Kharkiv from American firefighters, reported the Kharkiv City Council.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, many countries have provided Ukraine with ambulances and other vehicles to support hospitals and humanitarian efforts. 

Kharkiv City Council reported that the car was delivered at the initiative of Albuquerque Mayor Timothy Keller. The vehicle was delivered from the American firefighters to the “Direct Help,” a charity foundation and the volunteer organization “Kharkiv.”

“This vehicle has all the necessary equipment to organize work to clean up the aftermath of disasters, destruction, and large-scale fires,” said Bohdan Hladkykh, head of the Kharkiv Emergency Department.

On June 29, 2023, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and the Mayor of the American city of Albuquerque, Timothy Keller, signed a protocol of intentions to establish twinning relations between the cities online.

On June 3, Oleh Syniehubov, the governor of Kharkiv Oblast, said that Japan had provided 20 vehicles for medical needs to the deoccupied communities of the Kharkiv region. He said that vehicleswere funded bythe Japan International Cooperation Agency and the Government of Japan.
