UKRAINE, Sep. 11 — Russian forces continue to adapt and copy Ukrainian successful technology, including interceptor drones, said Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The main task of interceptor drones is to destroy air targets as part of air defense operations. In Ukraine, the first interceptor drone project appeared in October 2022.
“We are dealing with technological competition. The advantage will go to those who not only modernize, but lead the way,” said Commander-in-Chief.
According to Syrskyi, Ukrainian drones hit over 60,000 Russian targets. Most damage to Russian equipment was caused by kamikaze drones and heavy bomber drones called Baba Yaga.
This spring, Gwara Media analyzed the changes in Russian drone attack tactics and the influence of this process on the Kharkiv region.
At the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome, Zelenskyy called for Ukraine’s allies and partners to “boost investments” in interceptor drones.
Great Britain and Ukraine will cooperate to produce military equipment under a new technology exchange agreement. The first project will be a new interceptor drone called Project OCTOPUS.
