UKRAINE, KYIV, Apr. 20 — Russia injured Serhii Flash Beskrestnov, top Defense Ministry advisor and electronic warfare and military communications expert, allegedly targeting his house outside Kyiv with four jet-powered Shahed drones.
Today, Mykola Kalashnyk, the governor of the Kyiv oblast, reported that the Russian attack on the region injured a 51-year-old man, the same age as Flash. He also added that the man remains in the hospital in stable condition.
Later, Beskrestnov wrote about the attack on his Facebook page, adding the selfie from the hospital. He didn’t share the severity of his injuries.
“I was hurt, but miraculously I’m still alive. I was ready for such a development, and it won’t stop me,” Beskrestnov wrote.
Beskrestnov is the owner of a popular Telegram channel where he writes about developments in military electronic warfare, drones, communications, and other technologies Russia and Ukraine use against each other in the war.
In January 2026, Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s Defense Minister, appointed Beskrestnov as a Ministry’s advisor on technology issues.
