UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Apr 30 —On the night of April 30, the Russian troops attacked Kharkiv 16 times with drones, injuring 47 people, said Kharkiv mayor Ihor Terekhov.
“I live in this house on the third floor at the third entrance. I heard something terrible. Why are civilians going through such hell? The house was trembling, and the glass was falling,” said Vira, one of the residents of the high-rise apartment building, damaged in Russian attack on Slobidskyi district of the city, to Gwara Media, “I haven’t heard noise like that since the war started.”
Over the past day, Russians attacked 10 settlements in Kharkiv Oblast, injuring more than 50 people, including 47 in Kharkiv.
Oleh Syniehubov, Kharkiv Oblast governor, reported that Russian attack drones hit Kyivskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Nemyshlianskyi, Slobidskyi, and Saltivskyi districts of the city.
Gwara Media journalists worked at impact sites in the Slobidskyi and Saltivskyi districts.
The Kharkiv mayor said that this Russian attack injured 47 people, including two children and a pregnant woman. There are patients hospitalized in severe conditions among them.
Russian drones damaged at least 93 buildings, including private ones in Slobidskyi, Saltivskyi, and Kyivskyi districts, said the Kharkiv City Council.
One drone hit a high-rise building in the Slobidskyi district, destroying several apartments—that’s where Vira lived.
She continues, “It was unbearable. All neighbors immediately came out to the corridor; they had a small child. Three windows and a balcony in our apartment were blown out. We boarded up the windows. The electricity is turned off (now), we are in the dark, we will light candles at night.”
In the Saltivskyi district, Russians hit the private sector.
Municipal workers, volunteers, and locals are currently repairing the damage caused by the Russian attack. The buildings do not have electricity, and the windows are boarded up.
“We were ready to sleep when we heard the explosion, and the electricity was gone. My husband screamed: “We are on fire!” There were no windows anymore. They fell on us,” said Iryna, another resident of a damaged apartment building in Slobidskyi district.
Russian drones also damaged two hospitals and civilian businesses. The hospital’s patients weren’t injured.
In the morning of April 30, Russia launched six “Geran-2” attack drones at Pivdenne, a city in Kharkiv district, injuring 12 people, including seven children.
