UKRAINE, June 27— The European Union has allocated another €1.9 billion in financial assistance to Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility program, announced Ukraine’s Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

This is the third tranche that Ukraine will receive under this program. Since the beginning of 2024, Ukraine has already received about €6 billion in assistance under the Ukraine Facility program. In March, the EU transferred €4.5 billion, and in April — €1.5 billion.

“Huge thanks to Ursula von der Leyen and her team for unwavering support. Since the beginning of this year, total budget support from the EU has reached nearly €8 bln, with more to come,” Denys Shmyhal wrote.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said in Berlin during the Ukraine Recovery Conference on June 11 that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will provide Kharkiv with €25 million to prepare for the 2024-2025 heating season since Russia has destroyed the region’s energy infrastructure this spring.
