UKRAINE, KYIV, Oct. 7 — On Oct. 6, NATO’s Military Committee delegation, comprising the Military Representatives of 32 Allied nations, visited Kyiv for talks with the leadership of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The delegation held talks on the battlefield situation and continued support for Ukraine. The aim of the visit, according to Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, the Chair of the NATO Military Committee, was to discuss Ukraine’s military priorities and lessons learned regarding new types of warfare — and to help the Alliance be better prepared for any threats.
Giuseppe added that this was the Military Committee’s first official visit to Kyiv in the last eight years and it followed the North Atlantic Council’s visit to Kyiv in June.
“We are here in full strength, sending a clear message: the bond between NATO and Ukraine is strong and unbreakable. Despite Russia’s unprovoked aggression against Ukraine and its reckless hybrid activities in NATO countries, we stand with Ukraine in the heroic defence of its sovereignty, its territorial integrity and the future of its people,” Cavo Dragone said.
The delegation also paid tribute to Ukrainian service members who have lost their lives defending the country.
