Kharkiv Regional Military Administration: at least 12 buildings damaged in Kharkiv Oblast on May 6-8
- On May 7, a 67-year-old woman was injured in Buhaivka, Chuhuiv district. She was hospitalized in stable condition.
- On May 7, the car park was damaged by two strikes with S-300 missiles in Balakliia, Izium district.
- On May 7, at least three private houses and a car were damaged by shelling of the village Vovchanski Khutory in the Chuhuiv district.
- On May 6, a tractor blew up on an unknown explosive device near the village of Zatyshshia in the Kharkiv district. A 43-year-old man was injured and hospitalized in stable condition.
- On May 6, a shop building, a monument of the Aviation Center, and several private residential buildings were damaged by the shelling of Vovchansk in the Chuhuiv district.
- On May 6, a private house was damaged by artillery shelling in Dvorichna in the Kupiansk district.
- On May 6, the enemy tried to conduct offensive actions in the Synkivka area of the Kupiansk district and was repulsed by Ukrainian defenders and retreated with losses.
- On May 6-8, State Emergency Service specialists defused 268 explosive objects.
- On May 6, power engineers fully restored the electricity supply in the village of Hrakove in the Chuhuiv district. The Russian occupiers destroyed more than 80% of the electrical networks and equipment in Hrakove. After the demining of the territory by pyrotechnicians of the State Emergency Service, KharkivOblenergo specialists restored five substations, installed new transformers and more than 60 new poles, and restored more than 37 km of networks.
- On May 5, the enemy launched a rocket attack on the village of Chistovodivka in the Izium district. Moreover, Russians shelled Vovchansk twice with artillery and mortars. Seven residential buildings were damaged.
Regional Emergency Medical Assistance Center:
Seven civilians were injured by the Russian attack on Balakliia on May 7. Four of them had minor injuries and did not require hospitalization. Three people received moderate injuries and were hospitalized.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov:
During a working trip to the United States of America, Kharkiv Mayor discussed the possibilities of restoring the city’s energy infrastructure damaged by Russian shelling.
“I found support. We spoke with General Electric and other investors interested in contributing to the restoration of the energy infrastructure. We also have to rebuild residential buildings and the social sector – schools, kindergartens, hospitals. In addition, I met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and his deputy for economic development and energy. We discussed the possibilities of the economic recovery of Ukraine and the city of Kharkiv,” Ihor Terekhov said.
The mayor reported that the Kharkiv restoration requires about $9.5 billion.
