GEORGIA, BATUMI, Apr. 21 — A Kharkiv athlete, Kamila Konotop, won three gold medals and became an absolute champion of Europe-2026 in weightlifting, said Oleh Syniehubov, the governor of the Kharkiv region.

Konotop won three medals in the snatch, 100 kilograms (~220 pounds), the push, 121 kilograms (~227 pounds), and the total, 221 kilograms (~487 pounds), during the second day of the competition in Batumi, said the governor.

The athlete has now won her fourth European absolute championship title. She previously claimed this title in 2021, 2023, and 2024, “demonstrating a consistently high level of performance on the international stage.”

Earlier, a 17-year-old Ukrainian from Kharkiv, Roman Dehtiarov, won the European Individual Chess Championship 2026.
