UKRAINE, Mar. 4 — Russian forces have attacked objects of Ukrainian Railways 18 times since the beginning of March. That’s an average of six times a day, reported the press service of Ukrainian Railways.
According to the press service, Russians use attack and FPV drones to hit the railway infrastructure. They have already damaged 41 objects.
The railway vehicles are the main target for Russia. Ukrainian Railways recorded damage to 17 objects.
“This morning in Mykolaiv, a Russian drone attacked a passenger train car. The monitoring group spotted the drone in time and evacuated people. No one was killed, but a train inspector was injured,” said the press service, noting that Russians also attacked passenger cars.
This month, Russians also attacked railway depots and bridges, with the heaviest strikes targeting places near the front line, the press service said.
On March 4, a Russian drone hit a recovery train in the Lozova district in Kharkiv oblast, injuring a 30-year-old man.
