A fifty-eight-year-old resident of Lyman in Chuhuiiv district is accused of organizing an illegal and illegitimate referendum on the occupied territories of Kharkiv oblast for joining Russia.

Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office’s press service reported on this. 

The Prosecutor’s Office stated that the accused worked as an assistant for an occupational administration. She searched for people who could participate in that “referendum” in Synelnykove, Symonivka, Lyman, and Hrafske villages of Chuhuiiv district. In particular, she demanded those interested [in participating — ed.] to provide her with copies of personal documents. 

Ukrainian authorities detained the woman. She is now in custody. 

She’s accused under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, particularly under p.1 of Art. 14 (“Preparation for crime”), p.2 of Art. 110 (“Trespass against territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine”) p.5 of Art. 111-1 (high treason against the territorial integrity of Ukraine).
