UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, July 2 — A truck with a trailer ran over a Russian mine between the villages of Hrakove and Mospanove in the Chuhuiv district. The explosion damaged the vehicle, but the driver was not injured, reported the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

Kharkiv Oblast is one of the most heavily mined regions. More than 570,000 hectares of land in the Kharkiv region need to be inspected for mines and explosive devices after the Russian occupation. About 1.2 million hectares are considered to be contaminated. 

The incident happened on July 2 at about 10:30 a.m. The Chuhuiv district Prosecutor’s Office opened a pre-trial investigation into violating the laws and customs of war.

On the morning of June 24, a car hit a Russian anti-tank mine in the village of Slobozhanske in the Lyptsi community in the Kharkiv region. Two people were in the car. The man died at the site of his injuries, and the woman died during the transportation to the hospital.

Since the start of the full-scale war, pyrotechnic units of Ukraine’s State Emergency Service have inspected about 7,000 hectares of the Kharkiv region and found and defused more than 94,000 explosive devices.
