KHARKIV OBLAST, Feb 27 — The Security Service of Ukraine detained a man in the Bohodukhiv district of the Kharkiv Oblast on suspicion of collaborating with the Russian troops during the occupation of the region.

Vladyslav Abdula, a spokesman for the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv Oblast, reported this on Facebook.

According to law enforcement officers, the detainee worked at a local factory and voluntarily agreed to help the Russian troops. 

He repaired damaged Russian armored vehicles, including tanks, armored personnel carriers, and other vehicles that Ukrainian troops had hit near Kharkiv.

Investigators also suspect the man of betraying residents who resisted the Russians and helping to rob the homes of moved-out Ukrainians.

The SBU notified the man he is suspected of aiding the aggressor state (Part 1 of Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He faces up to 12 years in prison.
