Day 497 of the Russian full-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun. The adversary continued to shell Kharkiv Oblast with mortars, artillery, and air strikes. The army of the aggressor state tried to move South of Novoselivske in Luhansk region of the Kupyansk direction.
Current situation in Ukraine
- The Ukrainian defense forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Bakhmut, Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, consolidating on the achieved frontiers, conducting artillery fire on the identified enemy targets, and carrying out counter-battery activities.
- North and South of Bakhmut, Ukrainian troops continue to put pressure on the adversary, driving it out of the previously captured positions. Ukrainian troops have partial success in the area of Klishchiyivka.
- The enemy launched a missile attack on the town of Pervomaiskyi and the village of Bilyi Kolodyaz in Kharkiv region. In addition, 47 air strikes were recorded and 59 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems were launched at the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, civilians were injured, and residential buildings, commercial and administrative buildings, and private vehicles were damaged.
- The adversary continues to focus its primary efforts on Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Maryinka axes, with more than 40 combat engagements occurring on July 4.
Slobozhanshchyna axis
In the Slobozhansky sector, the Russian troops maintain a military presence and have intensified subversive and reconnaissance activities in the areas bordering Ukraine. The Russians conducted mortar and artillery attacks on Odnorobivka, Udy, Vovchansk, Okhrimivka and Zemlianky in Kharkiv Oblast.
Kupiansk axis
The Russian army tried to attack in the area south of Novoselivske in Luhansk region. Odradne, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zakhidne, Kupyansk, Masiutivka and Kyslivka in Kharkiv region came under artillery and mortar fire.
Kharkiv RMA
During the day, the occupiers launched a missile attack on Pervomaiskyi and Bilyi Kolodyazh village. The border settlements of Kharkiv, Chuhuiv, Kupyansk and Izium districts were shelled with mortars and artillery.
On the morning of July 4, at Monachynivka village, Kupyansk district, the occupants damaged houses and outbuildings with shelling. There were no casualties.
- At 1:37 p.m., the invaders struck the town of Pervomaiskyi with an Eskander missile. 43 people were injured, including 12 children. Eight multi-story buildings were damaged and cars were burning.
- As of the morning of July 5, 7 people remain in hospitals in the region. 5 are in Pervomaiskyi, in moderate condition, mostly with shrapnel wounds.
- A woman was hospitalized in Kharkiv with an eye injury, her condition is moderate. A one-year-old child is also in a medical facility, his condition is moderate.
- Around 8 p.m., the enemy carried out a powerful mortar attack on the village of Udy. They made 19 attacks, damaging two private houses and destroying a car. There were no casualties.
- At 11:30 p.m. in the village of Bilyi Kolodyazh, Chuhuiv district, the production building’s roof, walls, and structural elements were destroyed due to the shelling of the sugar factory. The Russians had previously used S-300 systems. Men aged 45 and 37 sustained explosive injuries. The victims were hospitalized in moderate condition.
- On July 5 at around 4 a.m., a shelling occurred in Bilyi Kolodyazh village. An apartment building and a car were damaged. There was no information about the victims.
- On July 5 at 4:32 p.m. in the village of Kozacha Lopan of Kharkiv district a house was burning due to the shelling. There were no casualties.
In Izium, a 69-year-old woman was injured due to the detonation of an explosive device in a forestry.
Mine clearance
Mine clearance works are ongoing. State Emergency Service pyrotechnics defused 59 explosives.
