UKRAINE, Jun 6 — At least 125 Ukrainian and foreign journalists were killed by Russia during full-scale war, said Kyrylo Budanov, the head of Ukrainian intelligence agency, on his Facebook. He congratulated media workers with their professional holiday and thanked them for their work during the war.
June 6 is Journalist’s Day in Ukraine. This profession became even more dangerous in 2022 because of the constant Russian aggression. This date became a day of memory for those who were killed during their professional duty.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine thanked the media workers for covering Russia’s war crimes, telling the world the truth about Ukraine, and helping to fight Kremlin disinformation and propaganda.
The statement also said that during the war, Russia injured 42 journalists, and 31 journalists are still in Russian captivity.
During the three years of war, three journalists from Kharkiv died because of Russian aggression, said the Kharkiv-based newsroom of Ukrainian media Novyny.LIVE.
