The Russian army has damaged 1271 cultural sites, excluding cultural heritage sites, Ministry of Culture and Information Policy reported.

During the last month, the total number of affected cultural infrastructure facilities has increased by 82 items, most of which (44 sites) are in the de-occupied territories of Kherson Oblast, and another third are in the active combat zones of Donetsk Oblast.

Clubs, libraries, museums, theatres, philharmonic societies, art education institutions, and cultural heritage sites in 198 territorial communities were damaged and destroyed. Most damages were recorded in Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Luhansk, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions.

Total damage includes:

  • Clubs – 603;
  • libraries – 479;
  • museums and galleries – 69;
  • theaters and philharmonic societies – 22;
  • art education institutions – 98.

Moreover, this is not complete data, as almost the entire territory of Luhansk and significant parts of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions are still under temporary occupation, and it is not known how much damage the Russians have caused there.

During the 11 months of the full-scale war in Kharkiv Oblast, more than 18,000 buildings have been destroyed, including 8,000 residential buildings.
