UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Jun. 9 — Overnight, Russian forces launched 11 Geran-2 kamikaze drones at Kharkiv, injuring 16 people. At the same time, they attacked Chuhuiv, a major city southeast of Kharkiv, with missiles, killing three people and injuring six others.
Terekhov, Kharkiv mayor, said that a 1-year-old boy and two girls aged 11 and 16 suffered acute stress reactions in the Russian drone attack on Kharkiv. Authorities also reported that a pregnant woman was among the injured but didn’t clarify the severity of her injuries.
According to him, Russian forces targeted Kharkiv’s Shevchenkivskyi and Kholodnohirskyi districts.
Russian drones damaged apartments, buildings, a cafe, offices, municipal building, a church and dozens of vehicles in the Shevchenkyvskyi district.
In the Kholodnohirskyi district, the Russian attacks damaged an industrial facility and repair workshop.
In Chuhuiv, Russian missile strikes killed a 22-year-old pregnant woman and two men, authorities didn’t disclose their ages.
Oleh Syniehubov, the governor of the region, said medics provide treatment to two women aged 65 and 71, and a 70-year-old man. All of them suffered acute stress reactions.
The Russian attack also damaged two apartment buildings, a shop, garages, and two cars in the attack on Chuhuiv.
Russia also left over 200 customers without electricity in Chuhuiv, reported Halyna Minaeva, the city’s mayor. She added that municipal workers are already working to repair damaged power grids and replace utility poles destroyed by the Russian attack.
The authorities declared a day of mourning in Chuhuiv following the Russian missile attack.
