KHARKIV OBLAST, JAN 9 — A crew of the Lyptsi district of Kharkivoblenergo [Ukrainian energy supply company — ed.] came under fire from Russian troops twice during the day, the company’s press service reported.
According to engineer Roman Hanhan, on January 9, while inspecting a power line damaged after a nighttime shelling in the village of Slobozhanske, a guided aerial bomb exploded 200 meters from the power company’s workplace.
He said this was the second time in 24 hours that this brigade came under fire. On January 8, while eliminating the consequences of the shelling in the border village of Vesele, shells started exploding around them again.
“The weather is now such that it is extremely difficult to leave the danger zone quickly – the road is frozen,” the engineer noted.

None of the workers were injured, says Hanhan. However, there is damage to the power grid.
Earlier, the Ministry of Energy reported that 2.7 thousand consumers were without electricity as a result of the fighting in Kharkiv Oblast.
