UKRAINE, Nov 5 – In February 2023, 22% of people thought Russia had enough resources for a long war with Ukraine. In October 2024, the number of such respondents doubled to 47%, according to a poll conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology.

46% of people agree that Russia is exhausting its resources and that the war may end soon on acceptable conditions for Ukraine. In February 2023, 67% thought so.

However, in the south and east of Ukraine, more people believe that Russia still has a significant supply of resources than those who think [the war] is exhausting them.

At the same time, in both regions, especially in the east of Ukraine, the number of those who believe in Russia’s unlimited resources has decreased.

In September-October of this year, the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) polled Ukraine’s ability to succeed in the war with Russia if the West provides the necessary support. 81% of respondents said they believed that Ukraine is capable of “inflicting significant setbacks to Russia and achieving acceptable results” in the war with the support of the West.
