UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Sep 17 — Over the past day, the Russian army conducted logistics in Vovchansk in the Kharkiv direction, evacuated losses, and strengthened assault groups, reported the “Kharkiv” group of forces.  

Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

The “Kharkiv” reported that near Hlyboke, the Russians are relocating personnel to strengthen their frontline positions.

Near Lukiantsi, the Russians are setting up a communication system and logistics and preparing for assaults, “Kharkiv” wrote. 

Near Tykhe, Russians are conducting aerial reconnaissance to detect units of the Defense Forces.

Over the past day, Russia conducted 26 kamikaze drone strikes in the Kharkiv direction, one airstrike using a glide bomb (KAB), and fired 321 times at Ukrainian positions.

According to “Kharkiv,” the Russian army lost 62 troops over the past day in the Kharkiv direction. 

In the Kharkiv direction, the Russians also lost 59 pieces of weapons and military equipment over the past day, including one artillery system, two anti-tank weapons, four vehicles, 52 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), 35 shelters for personnel, one ammunition storage site and three UAV launch sites.
