UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Oct 1 — Over the past day, the Russian military lost 202 troops on the Kharkiv axis, reported the “Kharkiv” group of forces.
Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)
The “Kharkiv” reported that the Russians continue to mine the area near Hlyboke actively, and there are cases of desertion near Lukiantsi, even though their units still hold their positions there.
In Vovchansk, the Russian military stormed Ukrainian positions more than ten times, but after suffering losses in manpower and equipment, they retreated. Currently, they are evacuating their losses and rotating their personnel, “Kharkiv” wrote.
Over the past day, the Russian military conducted one airstrike in the Kharkiv direction using a glide bomb (KAB), launched 56 kamikaze drone strikes, and fired 418 times at Ukrainian positions.
According to “Kharkiv”, the Russians also lost 100 weapon and military equipment units, including two tanks, 18 armored combat vehicles, seven artillery systems, 20 vehicles, four special vehicles, and 49 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Ukraine’s troops also damaged or destroyed 69 Russian shelters for personnel and three ammunition storage sites.
