UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Sep 16 — Near the aggregate plant in Vovchansk, Kharkiv region, Russian troops attacked their own forces from multiple rocket launchers, causing losses in their units, reported “Kharkiv” group of forces. 

Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

The “Kharkiv” reported in the evening that the Russian army tried to move personnel in the northern part of the city in vehicles that were destroyed by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The Russians are also evacuating the wounded and improving logistics near Vovchansk.

Near the settlement of Tykhe, Russian troops deployed personnel to frontline positions and conducted aerial reconnaissance to detect Ukrainian Defense Forces units, “Kharkiv” wrote. 

Over the past day, “Kharkiv” reported, Russian troops carried out two airstrikes in the Kharkiv direction, using six glide bombs (KABs). They also carried out 36 kamikaze drone strikes and fired 372 times at the positions of the Defense Forces.

According to “Kharkiv,” the Russian army lost 85 troops over the past day in the Kharkiv direction.
