UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug 2 — In the Kharkiv direction, the Russian army evacuated wounded from Vovchansk and carried out an internal rotation of personnel, reported the press service of the “Kharkiv” group of forces.

Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

According to the military, Russian soldiers at the frontline received ammunition and provisions.

In the nine-story block, the Russian army is preparing for assaults. They are building up personnel in the basements to continue further attacks on the Ukrainian defense positions.

“Near the village of Tykhe, Russians used a heavy mortar system TOS-1A. Near Hlyboke, they regrouped assault groups and mined the area. In the area of Zelene, the enemy set up combined minefields and intensified the use of FPV drones,” the military reported.

The Russians also launched one missile strike, carried out 58 kamikaze drone attacks, and fired 482 times at the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

Over the past day, the Ukrainian army killed 127 Russian troops. Also, in the Kharkiv direction, Russia lost 42 units of weapons and military equipment, including three artillery systems, 13 vehicles, seven special vehicles, and 19 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
