UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Jul 11 — The Russian army is trying to regroup units near Hlyboke in the Kharkiv region and is preparing the forces of the 138th Separate Mechanized Brigade for attacks in Vovchansk, reported “Kharkiv” group of forces.

Russia started their new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

The “Kharkiv” group of forces reported that the Russian army kept attacking in the Kharkiv direction. There have been nine combat clashes over the past day. Since the beginning of the day, Ukrainian troops have repelled three Russian attacks.

In addition, over the past day, Russia conducted 14 air strikes against Ukrainian troops, including 29 guided bomb (KAB) attacks near Lyptsi, Vovchansk, Hlyboke, and Mali Prokhody. There were also 44 kamikaze drone strikes and 390 shellings.

Viktor Solimchuk, deputy commander of the “Kharkiv” group of forces, said during the briefing that in the Kharkiv direction, in the 60 days since the start of the new offensive, the Russians have lost about 91% of their troops.

According to Viktor Solimchuk, 10,350 Russian soldiers participated in the new offensive. Of these, the Ukrainian army killed 2,939, injured 6,509, and captured 45 more.
