UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Sep 18 — In one section of the Kharkiv axis, near Hlyboke, Ukraine observes mass cases of food poisoning among the Russian military due to the poor quality of food, reported the “Kharkiv” group of forces.

Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

The “Kharkiv” reported that in the Kharkiv direction, there is also a low quality of drinking water and a need for medicines. Nevertheless, the Russians are moving personnel to strengthen the front lines.

Near Lyptsi, the Russian army is building up personnel to regain lost positions, restoring communication systems and parts of the fortifications destroyed by the Defense Forces. The Russians have also replenished mortar shells, “Kharkiv” wrote.

In the Starytsia area, Russians remotely mined the ways to approach their positions and are evacuating the casualties.

The “Kharkiv” reported that, in Vovchansk, the Russians deployed small groups of two brigades to the frontlines and delivered medical supplies; evacuation is ongoing in the city, too.

According to “Kharkiv,” the Russian army lost 85 troops over the past day in the Kharkiv direction.

In the Kharkiv direction, the Russians also lost 59 pieces of weapons and military equipment over the past day, including eight artillery systems, nine vehicles, five units of special equipment, 56 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and 53 shelters for personnel.
