Kharkiv was presented at the International Forum “A World for Travel” in Nimes, France.
The forum dedicated to “transforming travel to develop sustainability” took place on Oct. 27-28. According to the International Cooperation Office, the main goal of the event is to unite the public and private sectors to discuss the best practices of sustainable development in tourism.
Over 400 representatives of the industry took part in 15 sessions and case studies.
A special session of the forum was devoted to the war in Ukraine, the protection of cultural heritage, and experience exchange.
“What preparations are made to protect sites of importance when war is looming” – the topic of the “Resilience and War” session devoted to Ukraine.
Hon. Andriy Moskalenko (Deputy Mayor, Lviv, Ukraine), Yuliia Zghurska (Deputy Director, Kharkiv City Council), and Hon. Yuliya Sosyukina (Goodwill Ambassador, IHRCHQ/Mrs Universe Monaco 2021) took part in the discussion.
The session was moderated by Peter Greenberg – American journalist, CBS News Travel Editor, and the author of the Eye on Travel radio show. Kharkiv representatives gave a separate interview to Greenberg, Kharkiv City Council reported.
In total, Kharkiv residents gave interviews about 20 times during the forum – for “BBC News”, “CNN”, “Le Figaro”, “Deutsche Welle”, “The New York Times”, “Reuters” and others. As a result, new contacts have been established to cover true news about the current situation in the city around the world.
Earlier, the French publishing house Editions Stock released a collection of texts by Ukrainian writers dedicated to various cities and regions of the country.
