KHARKIV OBLAST, JAN 17 — 630 agricultural enterprises have been damaged and are partially or entirely out of order due to the Russian full-scale invasion.
In the Kharkiv Oblast, the agro-industrial complex has suffered losses of 18 billion hryvnias [$475 million — ed.] due to the full-scale invasion. This was announced during a briefing by the Deputy Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Yevhen Ivanov.
This number is not final and is constantly changing. Mostly, these are losses of grain companies.
“These are direct losses that are confirmed and recorded at the ministry level. This includes 630 agricultural enterprises. They were damaged as a result of Russian armed aggression and are partially or entirely out of order,” said Yevhen Ivanov.
The Kharkiv Oblast’s agricultural industry also suffers losses due to dense land mines. As Yevhen Vasylenko, spokesperson for the State Emergency Service, told Gwara Media, as of December 2023, 40% of the Kharkiv Oblast — about 1,300,000 hectares — remained mined.
