UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug 7 — In the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops tried to attack nine times near Lyptsi, Tykhe, and Vovchansk over the past day, reported the General Staff.

Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

In the Kupiansk direction, there were six combat clashes near Synkivka, Kolisnykivka, Hlushkivka, and Novoosynove, General Staff also reports.

According to the report, the Russians also hit Vovchansk, Hlyboke, Petropavlivka, Vovchanski Khutory, and Borova in the Kharkiv region with airstrikes.

On August 6, the “Kharkiv” group of forces reported that the Russian troops strengthened their frontline positions near Hlyboke, Kharkiv region, with assault groups from the 11th Tank Regiment of the 18th Motorized Rifle Division.
