UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug 14 — During the day, in the Kharkiv direction, Russians attacked Ukrainian positions near Hlyboke, Lyptsi, Tykhe, and Vovchansk, reported the General Staff.

Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

In addition, in the Kupiansk direction, there were four Russian attacks. Defense forces repelled Russian assaults near Synkivka, Berestove, Kruhliakivka, and Novoosynove.

The “Kharkiv” group of forces reported that Russia lost 71 troops in the Kharkiv direction over the previous day.

The Ukrainian army also destroyed 30 pieces of weapons in the Kharkiv direction, including two artillery systems, seven vehicles, three units of special equipment, and 18 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).
