UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, July 2 — In the Kharkiv direction, the Russian army continued offensive and assault operations. There were 13 combat clashes near Lyptsi, Vovchansk, and Hlyboke, reported the General Staff.
Russia started their new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)
In the Kupiansk direction, there were 17 clashes over the day. Defense forces repelled Russian attacks near Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Berestove, and Pishchane in the Kharkiv region.
The Russians hit Mali Prokhody, Lyptsi, Vesele, Neskuchne, Tykhe, Vovchanski Khutory, Okhrimivka, Lisna Stinka, Stepova Novoselivka, Pishchane, Kupiansk Vuzlovyi, and Pivdenne with air strikes.
Yevhen Ivanov, the deputy head of the Kharkiv Military Administration, said that the Russian Federation had not abandoned its plans for the offensive in the Kharkiv region.
The official noted that the Russian military will look for new opportunities to advance deeper into the Kharkiv region.
