UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Oct 1 — In the Kupiansk direction, there were 24 Russian army attacks near Synkivka, Novoosynove, Hlushkivka, Stelmakhivka, Andriivka, Kruhliakivka, and Vyshneve over the past day, reported the General Staff.
Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)
In the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops tried to attack Ukrainian positions 16 times near Buruhvatka, Starytsia, Tykhe, and Vovchansk over the past day. According to the General Staff, they failed to advance anywhere.
On September 24, the HUR’s press office reported that units of Ukraine’s military intelligence (HUR) recaptured the Vovchansk aggregate plant Russia occupied for the second time in May 2024.
According to the HUR press office, during the combat for the Vovchansk plant, Russia utilized artillery, kamikaze drones, glide bombs, and TOS-1A Solntsepyok rocket launcher against Ukraine’s military intelligence units.
