UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Oct 8 — In the Kupyansk direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 18 Russian attacks near Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Novoosynove, Vyshneve, Stepova Novoselivka, Lozova, and Kruhliakivka, reported the General Staff.
One of the main goals of the Russian full-scale war is to capture the remainder of occupied Luhansk and Donetsk Oblast; their operations on the Kupiansk-Svatove-Kreminna line are dedicated to that. From this section of the frontline, they also aim to push into Kharkiv Oblast and re-occupy Kupiansk and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, important logistics hubs for the region.
In the Kharkiv direction, the Russians tried to assault four times near Vovchansk and Starytsia.
In total, the Russian military launched one missile strike (used three missiles) and 82 airstrikes, including 137 glide bombs (KABs) and 1,190 kamikaze drone strikes at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas across the frontline. They also fired 3,460 times at the Ukrainian military positions and settlements, including 70 times with multiple launch rocket systems.
