UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Sep 5 — In the Kupiansk direction in the Kharkiv region, Russian troops attacked 17 times over the past day. Defense forces repelled all attacks near Synkivka, Hlushkivka, Lozova, Berestove, and Miasozharivka, reported the General Staff.
Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)
In the Kharkiv direction, the Russian army continued to advance near Vovchansk, where there were two clashes. In this area, the Russians actively use unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for strikes.
In addition, the Russians hit Tokarivka and Kruhliakivka in the Kharkiv region with airstrikes.
On September 3, the press service of the “Gart” brigade reported that in the Kharkiv direction, near Vovchansk, mortar crews of the “Scorpion” unit of the “Gart” brigade destroyed Russian dugouts, fire positions, and trench lines.
