UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Sep 6 — In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian army tried to assault the positions of the Defense Forces 15 times near Synkivka, Hlushkivka, Lozova, and Andriivka, reported the General Staff.
Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)
In the Kharkiv direction, there were seven combat clashes near Starytsia and Vovchansk, reported the General Staff.
In addition, the Russians hit Kharkiv, Tsyrkuny, Kolisnykivka, Shyikivka, and Izium in the Kharkiv region with airstrikes.
In total, across the entire frontline, the Russian military lost 1,170 personnel over the past day. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also destroyed seven tanks, nine armored combat vehicles, 20 artillery systems, one multiple rocket launcher system, an air defense system, 74 operational and tactical unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), 72 vehicles, and 13 units of special equipment of the Russian army.
